Research Assistant and Developer Link to heading

Years: 2021-today

Fullstack Developer of project colette, where the first year of my research was focused on Computational Thinking. After switching to 3D printing in mathematics education, I now study the effects of 3D printing and students’ actions during the 3DMP phases.

After switching to 3D printing for my doctoral study topic, my supervisor and I got a research grant over 167.000€ to explore the phases of 3D modelling and printing in relation to the Domains of TPACK.

In my seminar on the development of manipulatives with the 3D printer, student teachers of mathematics learn how to create 3D models using programmatic environments and print them. The focus is on the relevance to teaching and the conveyance of school mathematics.

The (further) development of MathCityMap, Asymptote, and Colette remains part of my responsibilities. For the first two, I work as a developer, and for the latter, I also serve as the technical director. These learning environments are used daily and have received several awards, such as the Quality Seal for Learning Apps from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research: MathCityMap, Asymptote, and Colette. My responsibilities include developing features, registering and hosting the platforms, as well as deployment and maintenance.

Beginning 2024, we are now doing monthly events to foster exchange and collaboration among the doctoral students and postdocs of the GRADE-Center CompuMath. Among those events are workshops, lunches, and writing nights. More info can be found on the GRADE-Center CompuMath website.
