Getting to us:
The lecture room is part of the Campus Westend (Caveat: This is not the campus where the math building is located). It is located in the so-called "Casino" building.
The nearest subway station is Holzhausenstraße (U1, U2, U3). From there, it is a 10 minute walk.
- From Frankfurt main train station, the Hauptbahnhof, take an S-Bahn (lines 1 to 9) to Hauptwache, and then switch to the subway (U-Bahn) system (lines 1, 2, 3).
- The university campus Westend is a 10 minute walk from the stop "Holzhausenstraße" served by the U1, U2 and U3 trains.
- Alternatively, bus number 36 will take you directly to the university entrance at Fürstenbergerstraße.
Here is a map where you can see the precise directions to reach the "Casino":

Signs inside the building will lead you to the lecture room.
Getting into Frankfurt:
You can book your train ticket via Deutsche Bahn. Booking at least 7 days in advance will yield cheaper tickets (but will restrict you to your chosen train).
If your train-ticket says: "+City" you are eligible to use public transport (subway, bus, and tram) to reach your final destination. This ticket-extension is valid one-way only and for immediate use, you may change as often as you need but you cannot pause or go back. From the main-station to the university a short-trip ticket is sufficient (see below).
Note that the airport "Frankfurt-Hahn" (HHN) is far away from Frankfurt, and connections are poor (1h travel + max 45 min wait).
Arriving at Frankfurt airport (FRA) you will need to take the S-Bahn into Frankfurt (approx 10 min travel + max 15 min wait, 3,90 EUR).
The station "Regionalbahnhof" is located in Terminal 1 Section B on the underground level (note that there are two train stations at the airport). Please change at Hauptbahnhof into subway U4.
Please contact us upfront if you are coming by car, so we can arrange for parking, which is especially hard to find around the university.
Frankfurt is reachable via A5 from south/north and A3 from east/west. Note that due to several construction sites on both highways, there may be traffic jams. Getting into Frankfurt in the morning and getting out in the evening is especially painful.
Public transport in Frankfurt:
Tickets for the Frankfurt public transport "RMV" are valid for all means of transport, i.e., buses, trams, and subways. The tickets are available in vending machines only, and they are valid for immediate travel, i.e., tickets don't need to be stamped and cannot be bought in advance.
